Born May 5, 1937 in South Carolina to Charles and Lillian Grace (Odell) Lynn, she married James Lloyd on August 5, 1962 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are two children, Mike Lloyd of Evansville, Indiana and Daniel (Jessi) Lloyd of Magnolia, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Ben, James, Jason, Alex and Liz; and many great-grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Velma worked in the office at Prairie Farms Dairy in Peoria, retiring in 2010.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed bird watching, especially hummingbirds.
Velma’s visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Inurnment will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin at a later date. Cremation has been accorded.
