Born May 8, 1923 in East Peoria to Jacob and Nora (Taylor) Hittle, she first married Robert I. Johnson. He died January 31, 1959. She then married Milton F. Haynes. He died on November 22, 1986. She later married Charles W. Bader. He died on January 1, 1993. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Carl Johnson; one daughter, Marilyn Turner; one infant daughter; six brothers and six sisters.
Surviving are one son, Steve (Brenda) Haynes of Pekin; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Henrich of Pekin.
A homemaker, Viola was very family oriented and loved quilting and sewing. She also was fond of jewelry and enjoyed going to auctions. She was a volunteer for many years at the Central Illinois Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired and had attended Zion Baptist Church in Pekin.
Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fon du Lac Township Cemetery in East Peoria. Pastor Mike Forbis will officiate. No visitation is planned. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
