Virgil Mayo

He was born October 26, 1941 in Weston, West Virginia to Virgil F. and Marguerite (Doak) Mayo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Mayo; three brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda of Pekin; one daughter, Lisa (Bill) Hammond of Lexington; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Jerry) Lee of Ravenna Ohio and Lily Kane of Weston, West Virginia; and one brother, Jim (Jean) Mayo of Mogadore, Ohio.

Virgil was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #150 in Joliet for 45 years, retiring in 2002.

He enjoyed woodwork, golfing, hunting and loved children.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday,April14,2011at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
