

Born November 25, 1938 in Toluca to Primo and Paulina (Guidotti) Marchesi, she married Donald James Mobeck on October 18, 1958 in Toluca. He died August 9, 2006 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joseph Richard Marchesi, Louis T. Marchesi, and Rudolph Sarafino Marchesi and two sisters, Nora Marchesi, and Ann Marie Glunz.
Surviving are one daughter, Amy Mobeck of Pekin; one son, Michael (Megan) Mobeck of East Peoria; three grandchildren, Logan (Emily) Mobeck of Washington, Cameron Mobeck and Morgan Mobeck, both of Bartonville and a host of nieces and nephews.
Virginia worked for the American Distilling Company in Pekin in earlier years. She later found purpose in caring for the elderly and last worked with Community Care.
She was devoted to her family and especially cherished time spent with her grandsons. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing games and cards, and traveling.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
