

She was born September 19, 1940 in Dillon, rural Tazewell County to Edgar and Helen (Beebe) Reynolds. Her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Hoerr and Mary Cline; and four brothers, James Reynolds, Glen Reynolds, Charles Reynolds, and Alonzo Reynolds.
Surviving are one daughter, Michelle (Dan) Taylor of Pekin and grandchildren, Nic Que and Jake Mayhew; one son, David (Debra) Shelton of Bartlett, and grandchildren, Katie, Stacey, and Amy Shelton; one sister, Judith West of Texas; one brother, Joseph (Georgia) Reynolds of Arizona; and one half-sister, Billie Sylvester of Alabama.
Being a homemaker was Virginia’s main priority; however she had worked at Forman Grade School in Manito for 9 years. She was very instrumental in the start up of the wrestling program in Manito.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek and Monsignor Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes in Pekin, where recitation of the Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
