

Born January 31, 1920 in Pekin to John R. and Hazel M. (Hill) Sheppard, she married Donald F. Zimmerman on August 25, 1940 in Columbia, Missouri. He died October 19, 2006 in Hopedale.
She was also preceded in death by 1 daughter, Lynn A. Walters on March 26, 1992 in Peoria; and 1 brother.
Surviving are 1 son, Brian M. Zimmerman of Charlotte, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Carie Onishi of Indian Trail, North Carolina, Julie (Tim) Alexander of Loudon, Tennessee, Dara (Randy) Baker of Emden, and Tyson R. (Mercedes) Walters and Garyn L. Walters, both of Delavan; and 4 great-grandchildren, Lily Zimmerman, Jordan Alexander, Cole Baker, and Brody Baker. She also leaves her son-in-law, Gary Walters.
A homemaker, she was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin, where she had been a Girl Scout leader and helped with Vacation Bible School.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2007at her church. The Rev. Brian Pape will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m.,Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel and 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
