

Born June 20, 1928 in Pekin to Marvin "Mike" and Eva Agatha (McCoy) Vanderwerf, she married Gerald Elmer "Pat" Lewis on January 26, 1947 in Pekin. He died February 8, 1994 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son (Douglas W. Lewis on August 12, 2004).
Surviving are one daughter, Renee D. (Danny) Terrill of Pekin; one son, Rod D. (Beverly) Lewis of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Marvin D. "Mick" Vanderwerf of Winter Haven, Florida and Robert W. (Ramona) Vanderwerf of Lake Wales, Florida.
Vivian worked as a clerk for Kirlin's Hallmark in Pekin from 1999 to 2006. Previously, she was a clerk at many Pekin area stores.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin.
Vivian enjoyed crocheting, reading, and shopping. She collected chicken and koala bear items.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
