GREEN VALLEY ~ Vivien Elnora Meadows, 95, of Green Valley, passed away at 12:48 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Pekin Manor.

Born April 19, 1926 in Bloomington to Roy Willis and Minnie Mae (Evans) Bricker, she married Thomas Meadows on May 17, 1946 in Urbana. He died January 17, 1994. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two granddaughters, Ronda Meadows and Jamie Woulfe; eight brothers; her son-in-law, Danny Woulfe and a special nephew, William Bricker.

Surviving are one son, William “Bub” Meadows of Green Valley; two daughters, Patricia (Stephen) Swingle and Sharon “Sherry” Woulfe, both of Green Valley; five grandchildren, Shannon (Angie) Woulfe of Dubuque, Iowa, Stephen (Melissa) Swingle of Green Valley, Tommy (Jamie) Swingle of Pekin, Angela (Justin) Colson of Manito and Dawn Meadows of Bartonville; fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A homemaker, Vivien had worked for Libby’s in Morton as a lab tech for 15 years. In earlier years, she worked for Hart Carter in Peoria to support the war effort in 1944.

She enjoyed cooking, raising plants and watching birds. She also was very fond of her dog, Cindy Sue.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chuck Tate will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
