Walter O Hagood

Walter was born in Limestone County, Alabama on January 12, 1924, the son of Henry W. and Eula E. Lovell Hagood.  He married Amaryaless A. Jordan on January 24, 1953 in Iuka, Mississippi, she preceded him in death on August 10, 1984.  He then married Frances D. Kelly in 1990 in Gatlinburg, TN, she preceded him in death on September 7, 2010.  Walter was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven; three brothers; and two sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Patricia L. (Roger) Smith of Percy; five grandchildren, Arminda L. (Patrick) Reed, Caleb K. (Nicole) Smith, Heather N. Hagood, Nathanael R. Smith, and Haleih M. Hagood; two great grandchildren, Barrett Walter Smith and Eleanor Lynn Reed; and one daughter-in-law, Sharon C. Hagood of Tamaroa.

Walter was a retired service tech from Sears, and EMT, and volunteer fireman.

He was a member of the Tanner United Methodist Church in Tanner, Alabama.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. 

Additional visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
