

Born May 4, 1928 in Johnston City, IL to Estel and Reba (Doering) Jent, she married Walter S. Bennett on February 15, 1958 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Gail L. (David) Taylor and Beth A. Bennett, both of Pekin; two grandchildren, Bennett D. Taylor of Pekin and Derek J. Reinmann of Eureka and one niece, Julie (Pete) Moreschi of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mildred E. “Midge” Zank and her little buddy, Holly, who was their faithful schnauzer for 14 years.
Wanda was a 1946 graduate of Pekin Community High School. After high school, she worked at Cohen’s for several years and then for Prudential Insurance until time of raising children.
Wanda enjoyed cooking and baking and liked to work word search puzzles. She also knitted. She was quite a ball fan and enjoyed following her St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin and attended T.O.P.S. at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark D. Friday will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and also from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
