PEKIN ~ Warren Louis Petry, 89, formerly of Schaumburg and Dunedin, FL, passed away at 11 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin.Born August 18, 1918 in Chicago to Harry and Hazel (Ssiegel) Petry, he married Margaret Schmerr on October 25, 1941 in Chicago. Surviving are his wife of Pekin; one son, Gordon (Patricia) Petry of Pekin; four grandchildren, Michael Petry of Superior, CO, Kristen (David) Conroy of Naperville, Megan (Scott) Larson of Lake Zurich, and Amy (Andy) Walser of Waterloo, IA; five great-grandchildren, Madison, Kyra, and Braden Conroy and Rebecca and Samuel Walser; two brothers, Paul (Marilyn) Petry of Heyworth and Russell (Elaine) Petry of Kingman, AZ; and one sister, Muriel Robertson of Apache Junction, AZ.His parents and one brother, Harry Petry, preceded him in death.He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.Warren worked for Illinois Bell in the Chicago suburbs for over 30 years. Private burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst. There will be no visitation or services.
