

Born April 3, 1936 in Hannibal, Missouri to Kenneth O. and Viola (Lehbenbauer) Lennox, he married Wilma Lucille Hamlet in October 1972 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael Lennox of Bartonville and Don Lennox of Forest City; four daughters, Wanda (Ron) Flatt-Horton, Deany Klausing and Connie Vanderheiden, all of East Peoria and Sandy (David) Brave of Morton; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell (Millie) Lennox of Palmyra, Missouri; two sisters, Sharon (Paul) Guthrie of Godfrey and Delores (Sam) Wilson of New London, Missouri and his sister-in-law, Dee Lennox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Susie Diane MacDonald; one great-grandson, Jacob Kosmider and two brothers, Larry Lennox and Howard Lennox.
Wayne was a 7th and 8th grade science teacher at Illini Bluffs in Glasford for 32 years, retiring in 1993. He also taught for one year at Mapleton.
He spent most of his free time doing genealogy on his family.
Wayne attended Manito Baptist Church.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Paul Odewalt will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito.
