Wendy L. McGill

She was born in Pekin, Illinois, on March 21, 1958, to Charles and Betty (Tangman) McGill. She married Donald G. Boyd on September 15, 1978, in Pekin and enjoyed 38 years of marriage prior to his death on October 29, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dora Munter (Gale), and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Dylan R. McGill Boyd of St. Louis, Missouri, her sister, Sally (Don) Johnson of Longboat Key, Florida, and her brother Michael (Sylvia) McGill of Arizona. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kristoffer Munter (Shelly), Dr. Robert Johnson (Stephanie), Dr. Brendon Johnson (Lisa), and several great-nieces and nephews: Bradley Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Ethan Munter, Aiden Munter, Elliott Munter, Derek Rademaker, and Mavis Rademaker, all of Pekin.

She worked at Herget Bank on Broadway Road in Pekin after graduating from Pekin Community High School in 1976. After moving to Texas, she worked at Pecan Plantation Country Club in Granbury, Texas. After returning to Illinois, she worked for Pekin Insurance for 22 years until she retired in 2018.

In her free time, Wendy was an active and competitive tennis player, playing in area leagues for several years and played her last match in October of 2024. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed concerts and travelling with her friends.

Her memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded.
