He was born October 26, 1934 in Trenton, Tennessee to Thomas H. and Gladys Pearl (Fisher) Bledsoe. They preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Debra Woods of Pekin; two sons, Terry (Jeanie) Bledsoe of Jackson, TN and Troy Bledsoe of Pekin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Nellie (Chester) Johnson of Jackson, TN and devoted caregiver and mother of his children, Judy Abel of Pekin.
Bill worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years in East Peoria as a welder.
An avid bowler, Bill had a great sense of humor. He loved his grandchildren and was loved by all who knew him.
His funeral will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Johnny Creasong will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 4722 N. Sheridan Rd., Peoria, IL 61614.
