

He was born on November 22, 1939 in Henry, a son of Leslie C. and Thelma L. (Pinkston) Conarro. William married Sandra June Ewers on October 11, 1996 in Pekin. She survives.
William is also survived by two daughters, Holly L. (Stevan) Conarro-Swanson of Pekin, Robyn Leslie Conarro of Lighthouse Point, Florida; two stepsons, Jeff (Kim) Logue of Pekin and Paul (Kris) Peacock of Lexington, two sisters, Judy Rolf-Reilly of Toluca, Carol Ann (Bob) Gobart of Texas; one brother, John W. (Sherry) Conarro of Noblesville, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Micah (Diana) Harlan, Brooke Patterson-Logue, Gabrielle Janssen, Isabella Conarro-Minutolo, Ben Peacock, Claire Peacock, Jack Peacock and Max Peacock.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Conarro.
William proudly served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1960, as a Boiler Technician 2nd Class on the USS Midway CVA-41. William later worked for Archer Daniels Midland in Peoria as a truck driver and later for Caterpillar, Inc. for 32 years as a pipefitter and machine repair at the Mapleton Foundry. He retired on October 1, 1994.
He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, old cars, especially his 1962 Buick Special. William had a fond appreciation of Huskies and Alaskan Malamute’s. He also built his house in the hillside. He was very talented and could fix anything and make it work.
His visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, July 6, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Military rites will be conducted at noon. Cremation will be accorded. Inurnment will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin at a later date.
