William O. Johnston

Born January 13, 1927 in Wayne County to Sherman and Edna (Sandlin) Johnston, he married Marilyn Jean Vanfosson on July 9, 1952 in Wayne County. She died August 26, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Jerry) Zahourek of Loveland, Colorado and Mary (Dave) Bixenmann of Aurora, Colorado; one son, Roger (Deb) Johnston of Glasford; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two brothers, Murrelle Johnston and Glenn (Carol) Johnston of Glasford.

He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years.

Bill was a member of the Lancaster Masonic Lodge #106 in Glasford. He was a former member of the American Legion and of the Optimist Club. He was loved by everyone that knew him and will be greatly missed.

Bill attended the Glasford Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on November 12, 2022 at the Glasford Baptist Church. following the service a gathering celebrating Bill's life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
