William D Jones

Born December 27, 1942 in Canton to William D. and Marian Simmerman Jones, Sr., he married Linda L. Warren on September 22, 1962 in Canton.

Surviving are his wife; mother, Marian Jones of Pekin; 1 daughter, Shelly (Brian) Camden of Green Valley; 1 son, David L. Jones of Pekin; and 3 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Bill worked at Caterpillar, Inc. as a heat treat operator, truck driver, and assembler for 30 years, retiring January 1, 1996.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-65.

A member of Pekin Moose Lodge #916, he was a Past Governor, a member of the Ritual Staff, and of the Pekin Moose 100. He was also a member of the Manito Lodge #276 A.F and A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Peoria, and the Mohammed Temple Shrine.

He was also a member of the Pekin Bible Church.

Bill enjoyed fishing, golfing, skydiving, riding his motorcycle, and bowling. He had served as secretary for several leagues.

A Moose Lodge ritual will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, with funeral servicesfollowing. TheRev. Richard W. Jones will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.,Thursday, April 5, 2007at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
