Yvonne Mary Keyster

PEKIN ~ Yvonne Mary Keyster, 78, of 1501 West Shore Drive, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Morton Terrace Care Center.

Born April 21, 1933 in Pekin to Knud and Katherine (Cash) Svendsen, she married Harry Pollman July 26, 1952 in Pekin.  She later married Art J. Keyster on July 1, 1971 in Peoria.  He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Lynn Pollman, Cindy (Dave) Pagliaro and Julie (John) Franks, all of Pekin; eight sons, Rick (Suzi) Pollman, Tim (Sherry) Pollman, David (Shelly) Keyster, Todd (Annette) Pollman, Mark (Frances) Keyster, Jeff (Jennifer) Pollman, all of Pekin, Gary (Lori) Pollman of Mapleton and Dennis Pollman of Land O’  Lakes, FL; thirty-one grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight brothers, Robert (Carol) Svendsen of Paris, Byron (Mary Ann) Svendsen, Dan Svendsen, David (Donna) Svendsen, Tom (Sharon) Svendsen, Terry (Robin) Svendsen, Michael (Barb) Svendsen, all of Pekin  and Jack Svendsen of Havana and two sisters, Sonja (Guy) Stanford of Vancouver, B.C. and Margie (Dale) Baxter of Salem, OR.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Brandon Pollman.

Yvonne was an independent insurance agent with Keyster-Thomas Insurance in Pekin, where she worked for 30 years, the last 10 years as an owner.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and the Council of Catholic Women.  Yvonne also was a member of the Pekin Garden Club and a faithful volunteer for Tazewell County House of Hope in Pekin.

Her funeral Mass will be at noon Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.  Father Timothy Nolan will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
