Alberta was a children’s librarian at Ft. Lauderdale Public Library and assistant librarian at Vestavia Hills Public Library.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Baker.
Survivors include Alberta's sons, James Baker (Sandy) of Dimmitt, Texas, and Scott Baker (Pam) of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Barbara Baker of Hoover, Alabama; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society or Hoover Public Library.
