Alex J Bearden

Alexander Junior “Buck” Bearden, born December 27, 1934, died May 7, 2017 at his home with his wife Lorraine by his side. He was a resident of Dunnavant in Shelby County Alabama. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Lorraine (Clark) Bearden. Together they had six children, Lonnie (Hope) Bearden, Randy (Patti) Bearden, Rhonda Carver, Alton (Suzanne) Bearden, Sandra (Mark) Hill, and Cynthia (Bob) Blackerby. They were also blessed with 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandbaby. He was survived by two sisters, Maebell (Arthur) Hanner and Mary (Olin) McCarthey. He is preceded in death by his father, Alexander Bearden and his mother, Ada Mae (Bearden) Bragg. His sisters Betty (Jimmy) George, Clara Bee (Hubert) Ramey and brother Phillip Bragg. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and Calcis Baptist Church for many years where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He also drove the church bus. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11 am at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with burial in Kendrix Cemetery. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all his heart and loved his family very much. He was the best Bee Keeper ever.
