Allison Marie Haggerty

Allison Marie Haggerty, age 33, passed away on Friday, December 4, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Allison was born in Birmingham on August 15, 1982. She grew up in Vestavia Hills where she attended Vestavia Hills schools. She had an early passion for dance and took lessons from several local dance studios to pursue her interest in ballet.

As a young adult, Allison attended some college and worked in various industries. Most recently she had launched a successful sales career with Merchants Food Service where her accomplishments qualified her for a trip to St. Martin in the Caribbean.

Allison had great excitement for life, adventure, nature, her family, and especially her son. She is remembered with love by her parents, Janis M. Haggerty and James A. Haggerty, Jr. (Georgia); her son, Hayden L. Haggerty; her sisters, Emily A. Haggerty and Kathryn C. Haggerty; and her niece Haley G. Haggerty. Allison is also survived by her grandmother, Joyce W. Machen; her grandfather, James A. Haggerty, Sr. (Marguerite); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death are Allison's grandparents Frank G. Machen and Kay B. Haggerty.

Allison's family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time and to send a special thank you to the loving staff of UAB Hospital and UAB Palliative Care.

The celebration of Allison’s life will be at 1pm on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
