Marilyn worked in supervisory roles with Pacific/BellSouth. She was a faithful member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover.
The daughter of a U.S. Navy serviceman, Marilyn spent her childhood moving between Minnesota, Maryland, and California before eventually putting down roots in Southern California. There, she lovingly raised her three children. Her greatest gift was making people feel at home in her presence.
Whether serving as a Cub Scout den mother, cheering from the little league sidelines, painting festive Christmas scenes across her front window, or spoiling her six grandchildren with baking, shopping trips, and visits near and far, Marilyn filled ordinary moments with extraordinary warmth. In later years, she absolutely adored her eight great-grandchildren, delighting in every milestone, visit, and opportunity to shower them with love. Her kindness, bright smile, and generous heart made every person she met feel deeply loved, and her memory will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by Lawrence E. "Larry" Adams, her loving husband of 52 years and her favorite traveling companion; one son, Kerry Lee Richards; a sister, Rosemary McCallum; and a brother, Edward R. Radant. She is survived by her children, Kathy Parker (Martin), W. Michael Richards (Terry), and Larry Adams (Claudette); grandchildren, Jana Parker, Crystalin Trossen (Andy), Cherise Rhye (Jordan), Larry Adams (Lauren), Shayn Adams, and Laura Robinson (Wok); eight great-grandchildren; niece, Debbie Bromagem (Neil); and great-nieces, Sarah and Brittney.
Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 2-3 p.m., followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
