Anthony Holmes

Holmes, Anthony F, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Anthony was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, AL as well as President CEO of Regions Bank, Shelby County. Anthony was also on the board for Shelby County YMCA, the Alabaster Industrial Development Board, treasurer and board member for Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, and board member for Shelby County Work Release Commission. He is preceded in death by his father Homer F. Holmes, Jr.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife Sharon Green Holmes; children Wesley F. Holmes (Khala), Emily H. Nix (Duane), Cody J. Lucas (Brittany), and Zac D. Lucas (Amber); grandchildren Cayden Nix, Lillie Nix, Noah Holmes, and Reagan Lucas; mother Audrey Holmes; sister Teresa Gannaway (Steve); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Westwood Baptist Church. The funeral services will take place Friday, September 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Westwood Baptist Church with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westwood Baptist Church, Columbiana Methodist Church, or to the American Cancer Society.
