

Reverend Anthony Frank Stanton Lewis, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Duncanville, Alabama was born on May 1, 1961 at Fort Belvoir, VA. Tony passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on November 11, 2025 at the University of Alabama (UAB) Hospital.
His parents were Betty Ruth Lewis (deceased) and Jeffrey Phillips III (deceased). He attended Reid Ross High School, Westover Senior High School, Charles County Community College, and Meridian Community College. He was an Air Force veteran and worked in logistics at the Boeing Company.
Tony never met a stranger and availed himself to assist wherever he could. His pastimes were fishing, watching old movies and spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Anthony D. Lewis(Teashia), Justin Hopson, and daughters, Princess Lewis, Erica Davis, Jamie Davis, and Arika Glenn ( Antonio); sisters, Crystal O. Hall (Darrin), of Anniston Al, Gwendolyn G. M. Phillips, of Wichita Falls, TX, Dawn Phillips, of Wichita Falls, TX; uncle, Roddy Lewis (Lee) of Myrtle Beach, SC.; aunt, Patricia Ann Lewis of Cape Coral, FL, Ollie Joe Forbes of Anniston, AL; grandchildren, Jaylen Davis , Nickolas Davis , Ayanna Taylor, Marcus Taylor, Nolan Davis, Jordan Lewis-Taylor, Carter Davis, Angel Lewis, Travis Hill, Austin Lewis, Anaya Lewis and Abygail Glenn; and a host of nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, located at 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124, on November 21, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment will be at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
