

Austin earned his undergraduate degree in Business from the University of South West Louisiana. His professional career was in Lending with various banks in the Birmingham, Alabama area, including Compass, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo. He was retired as Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
In his leisure, Austin enjoyed aviation, camping, and his three grandsons. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Boy Scouts of America, Aero Club, and Sigma Nu.
In addition to his parents, Austin was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Landry. He is survived by his wife, Tina O. Landry, to whom he was married on March 22, 1975; one son, Thomas Jonathan Landry (Kristie); a daughter, Patricia Landry Johnson (Jason); and grandsons, Jayden, Everett, and Elliott.
Visitation will be at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Birmingham on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 9-10 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the church, 5514 Double Oak Lane, Birmingham, AL 35242. The gravesite committal service with military honors will begin at 2 p.m. on April 28 at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
