Nov. 15, 1948 – July 9, 2014
Wayne was an eternal optimist with a passion for life. This was most obvious and inspiring as he courageously battled cancer. He honored his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as he displayed humility and dependency on his Lord. He encouraged others while never complaining and was more concerned for his family than himself. He had a sense of humor that was infectious and extended grace to all. He loved being a father to his 2 sons and grandfather to his 5 grandchildren in whom he took tremendous pride. Wayne enjoyed watching Auburn football with his boys, grilling for family, and trips to the Gulf.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his brother-in-law, Ronnie Abbott for his tireless effort in support and help for Wayne, to Kim Abbott, Larry Barclay, Joey and Tanya Deavers, and to all of our family for their love and prayers. The family also extends gratitude to special friend Randy Parker, to Comfort Care Hospice and to special nurse, “Dr. Will.” They would like to show appreciation also to Dr. Kyle Brown for his compassionate prayer and care for Wayne and his family.
Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Bart Naish; and his sister, Pat Naish. He is survived by his wife, Marie Naish; sons, Shane Naish (Jennifer), Chad Naish (Nicole); grandchildren, Abby, Lilly, Bella, Camden and Anna Kate Naish; mother, Louise Naish; sister, Sue Duke; and by numerous other family and friends that loved him.
