

He was the founder of the retirement planning firm, The Lloyd Team/Senior Strategies, and has been helping families for over 30 years. His heart has always been to serve people in need. Many people knew him from his willingness to serve the Lord at his local church, Lakeview Pelham First United Methodist where he played the piano, sang, and led worship.
He was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and fell in love with music at an early age. After attending college at the University of Delaware and serving his country in the United States Army, he started his musical career in Delaware. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1979 where he expressed his talent writing and performing music. He was indeed following his dream. In addition to his music, he started his insurance career with Associated Doctors Health and Life in Birmingham. That is where he met Ann Billingsley. They fell in love and have been married for 32 years blending their families to make one happy family. He has been the patriarch and will be deeply missed.
He is proceeded in death by his father Benjamin Edward Lloyd Sr., his daughter Ashley Thomas and is survived by his wife, Ann Lloyd; children Benjamin Lloyd III, Sean Tinney, Christopher Tinney, Jessica Elmes (Thomas); grandchildren Benjamin Lloyd IV, Ashley Thomas Jr., Ashton Thomas, Nicholas Elmes, Evelyn (Evie) Elmes, and Harrison Elmes. He was affectionately known as Pop. He is also survived by his mother Anna Lloyd who he deeply loved; siblings Pamela Terczak (Hank), Mark Lloyd (Michelle) as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at 2:00 pm, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
