Betsy Kelly Overton

Betsy “Toni” Kelly Overton, age 71, of Tullahoma, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2022. Mrs. Overton was a Tullahoma First United Methodist Church member, where she volunteered for years for the Dossett Chapel, helping children in need. Mrs. Overton was born and raised in San Jose, CA, where she graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. She moved to Memphis, TN in her early 30’s, and studied at Memphis State University. She loved to ride horses and competed with the Tennessee Gaited Saddle Horses for many years. A beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, she leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Mr. William (Bill) S. Overton III; daughter, Patricia (Carey) Barrentine; step-son, William Overton; step-daughters: Lindsay Overton, Kendall Overton, and Tracy (Gary) Kerr. Mrs. Overton loved her grandchildren dearly, they are Wesley (fiancé Kacie DeLong) Barrentine, Matthew Barrentine, Will Overton, Andrew Kerr, and Julia Kerr. Mrs. Overton’s brother is Howard L. (Georganna) Kelly; Sister, Emmy (Randy) Walker; Sister-in-law, Jan Kelly. Mrs. Overton is preceded in death by her parents, Howard L. and Patricia Kelly; Sister, Susan (Jim) Welch; brother, Timothy Kelly; and granddaughter, Georgia Overton. She also loved all her numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on April 7, 2022, between the hours of 10:00 am and 11:00 am at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Birmingham, AL. A celebration of Mrs. Overton’s life will begin at 11:00 am.
