

Betty attended Phillips High School. She was married to James Miles Brown on February 2, 1957. She retired from Piggly Wiggly in Homewood, Alabama after 26 years of service, and later she worked at Sunshine Manor with her friend Diane Scott.
Betty was a life-long member of Kingwood Assembly of God in Alabaster, where she loved singing and spending time with the Nifty Fifties group. She attended New Life Assembly of God in Pell City for the past four years.
She loved her family with all of her heart and loved spending time with them.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Miles Brown; her mother and father, Evelyn and Ray Jones Sr. of Birmingham; one son, Miles Timothy Brown; one sister; and three brothers.
Survivors include three daughters, Bambi Smith (Carle) of Alabaster, Cathy Teets (Steve) of Pell City, and Tamara Brown (Beverly) of Alabaster; eight very special grandchildren who loved Betty very much, Misti Haupt (Jason), Chad Holtzman (Melanie), Chase Holtzman (Katie), Carla Kato (Jarred), Lacey Lawyer (Luke), Angel Johnson (Jason), Chelsea McGraw (Dwight), and Kaleb Brown (Mariah); several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Betty also loved being with her very best life-long friend, Ressie Mae.

The family will greet friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Service of Remembrance for Betty Brown at 1 p.m. at the funeral home's chapel. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
