Betty Thorne Garrigan, age 92, passed away on February 9, 2021. She was born to Jesse and Lavada Thorne on January 6, 1929 in Birmingham, AL. Betty was a regular attendant of Hunter Street Baptist Church for many years. One of her favorite past times was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Lavada Thorne; loving husband, William Thomas Garrigan; son, William Thomas Garrigan III; and grandson, William Thomas IV.
Betty leaves behind her sister, Jimmie Thorne Jernigan, brother, Bruce Thorne (Viola Stachurova); daughter-in-law, Diane Day Garrigan; grandchildren, Chey Garrigan and McCain Garrigan Gallahar (Joseph Lee); great-grandchildren, Ella, John Thomas, and Amelia.
Visitation will be Friday, February 12th, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
