Billie graduated from Gordo High School and later earned a degree as a legal secretary, a career that led her to work for Cumberland Law School and the Jefferson County Courthouse. She retired after 25 years of dedicated service. Billie married the love of her life, Charles, on October 3, 1958, and together they shared 64 years of marriage.
