Mrs. Horton, age 89, of Birmingham, Alabama, made her final journey to Heaven on Wednesday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Horton. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Phillips and Leigh McArthur; sons-in-law, Larry Phillips and Dan McArthur; and grandchildren, Blair Phillips, Courtney McArthur, and Graham McArthur. Mrs. Horton was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama. Dr. Mike McLemore will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to The Salvation Army or to ministries for prevention of child abuse.
