He graduated from Halls High School and, following graduation, began working for the Illinois Central Railroad. Bobby enjoyed many forms of hunting, including duck, quail, squirrel, and deer hunting. He also loved fishing, woodworking, genealogy, and spending time swinging on the porch whenever he had the chance. He was an avid Tennessee football fan and especially enjoyed attending football games with his high school classmates. Bobby was a member of First Baptist Church of Alabaster, which he continued to attend virtually via Zoom during the last several years.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Doris Hines; his beloved wife, Estelle Fox Hines; his grandchild, Lucas Alexander Hines; and his son-in-law, Rick McCrary.
