Brenda Butler Hays

Brenda Butler Hays, 72, of Hoover, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. She was a graduate of Jones Valley High School and a longtime member of Green Valley Baptist Church and Hunter Street Baptist Church.

Brenda was an avid tennis player, but her greatest love was family. She loved nothing more than watching her children grow and would have loved being a grandmother even more.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Juanita Butler, and twin sister, Linda Brown.

Survivors include Brenda's devoted husband of over 50 years, Mike Hays. She is also survived by her children, Matt Hays (Susan) and Julie Brousil (Ben); grandchildren, Hudson Hays, Anderson Hays, and Brady Brousil; brothers, Joe Frank Butler (Shirley) and Jack Butler (Marilyn); and brother-in-law, Jim Brown.

Due to current circumstances, a public visitation will not be possible. A private burial will be held at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama, P.O. Box 2273, Birmingham, AL 35201.
