Bryan John Jackson, age 38, of Bessemer, AL, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018. Bryan was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. He was loved by so many, and spent his life devoting himself to others.
Bryan had an infectious smile that would light up any room, and a happy spirit that he carried wherever he went. He was beyond generous and kind to friends and animals alike. He loved and rescued animals.
Bryan devoted his life to the sport he loved. He was active in Birmingham soccer from early childhood, and remained active in adult leagues throughout the Birmingham metro area. He even coached a paraplegic soccer team in Homewood.
Bryan also loved traveling. He spent time traveling internationally to places including Greece, Taiwan, and Japan. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. A bright light in a cold world that was taken too soon.
Bryan is survived by his parents, James and Amy Jackson of Birmingham; grandparents, Bud and Lois Jackson of Birmingham, and Chen Lin Su of Taiwan; one sister, Jamie Jackson Stephens and her husband Michael of Birmingham; and various aunts, uncles, and cousins in America and Taiwan. Bryan also leaves behind his beloved pet, Gus.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by A Celebration of Bryan's Life at 11 a.m. at the funeral home's chapel. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
