Carl Jackson West Jr.

Carl Jackson West Jr. ESQ.Carl made his transition on April 27th 2013 after an extended illness. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama, and Cumberland School of Law. Carl was a member of both the Alabama and Florida Bar, and had practiced law in Birmingham for the past 30 years. Carl married a North Carolina Tarheel, Sibyl Holshouser, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by both his parents, Carl J West Sr, and Bertha Dawson West, and his sister, Anne West Brown. Left to cherish his memory are is daughter, Stephanie West Gifford (Chris) and three grandchildren; Thomas, Nickolas, and James Gifford. Also left to remember him are three sisters and two brothers; Dot Watson (Lynn), Sara Dotson (John), Mary Powell (John), Edmund West (Peggy), and John West. Carl was member of the Episcopal Church of St. Francis of Assisi, and will be greatly missed. Many thanks to the people who cared for Carl in his last days, especially the medical staff. Services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi in Indian Springs on May 2, 2013 at 11:00am. Family will receive friends from 10-11. Family request in lieu of flowers that donations may be sent to St. Francis of Assisi Memorial Fund.
