

She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 25, 1946. She graduated from Fairfield High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Nursing degree from St. Vincent School of Nursing.
On May 11, 1965, she married the love of her life, Gary Wright, and together they built a beautiful life filled with dedication and commitment to family.
Carla dedicated 40 years of her life to caring for others as a nurse at Princeton Hospital. Beyond her career, she had a passion for cheering on Auburn athletics, baking for her family, going on beach trips, watching Days of Our Lives, and caring for her great-grandchildren every Monday. She was also a proud member of J.L. Morgan for ten years.
Carla is survived by her daughters, Sherry Freeman and Tammy Brown, her grandchildren, Lauren Spivak, Rachelle Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Hayden Freeman, Colton Freeman, Stanton Freeman, and her sister, Anita Lawson.
A visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on November 10, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with a service beginning at 10:00 am. Following the service, interment will take place at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville, Alabama.
