Carol Rivers Strawbridge

Carol was born on December 19, 1946 at West End Baptist Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated in 1963 from Minor High School, Adamsville, Alabama. After she retired from Winn Dixie with 25 years of service, she went on to work another 20 years with Walmart before retiring a second time.

Carol enjoyed crocheting and taught her daughters to crochet when they were small girls.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Mary Rivers; her husband of 29 years, James “Jim” Strawbridge; and her two great-grandsons, Nicolai Rudas and Scout Brown.

Carol will be missed by her daughters, Sherryl Cody of Clarksville, Tennessee and Chelita (Roger) Larsen of Panama City Beach, Florida; her grandchildren, Bradley (Savannah) Northcutt, Erin Cody, Calvin (Rachel) Cody, Mandi Maroney, Amy (Rivers Schuster) Copass, Sabrina (Tyler) Brown, and Angel Copass; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Northcutt, Harrison Northcutt, Bryson Northcutt, Ryker Northcutt, Amelia Cody, Malachi Burleson, Claxton Baker, Nora Schuster, Graham Schuster, Rhett Schuster, Sirus Brown, and Scarlett Brown; her two aunts, Virginia Thomason and Marie Crocker; and a multitude of cousins and friends whom she loved unconditionally.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, visitation will be 1-2 p.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance at 2 p.m. at the funeral home in Pelham. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.
