Carol Jean Myers Yarbro, age 84, passed away July 22, 2025. Carol was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was a career United States Postal employee. Carol was a Hoover, Alabama resident since 1983 when her family moved to Birmingham. She was an active member of Christ Church Birmingham, and loved serving others. Carol was a devoted wife, mother and "Grammie." She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, Alpha chapter.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Willie Esta Myers; and husband, Bob Yarbro.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Thompson (Katie); daughter, Denise Chastain; brother, Ronnie Myers (Alice); grandchildren, Jessica Lucchesi (Mike), Chad Chastain, Brice Thompson and Cooper Thompson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10-11 am, Saturday, August 2 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home with a celebration of life beginning at 11:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Church Birmingham.
