She was born in Nashville, TN on April 23, 1940 to the late Harris Clayton Reese and Mary Katherine Reese. Also preceding her in death is her son-in-law, Matthew Murdoch and her brother-in-law, Scott Long.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Kala Lockridge Murdoch and Kristi Lockridge (Craig) Tolbert; four grandchildren, Mara Murdoch (AJ) Gonzalez, Whitney Murdoch (Richard) Childrey, Trent William Tolbert, and Samuel Craig Tolbert; one great-grandchild, Nora Ruth Childrey; and one sister, Kathey Reese Long.
Carole graduated from Gadsden High School. Her career as a school secretary at Epic School allowed her to love on people every day. She enjoyed her job so much and the kids and teachers loved her. After retirement, and when Carole was well, she loved volunteering at her church, First Christian Church Valleydale Road, and then going to lunch with her girlfriends. Her very favorite times were spent with family. Her sense of humor and quick wit made for lots of laughs and happy times. Carole loved her grandchildren more than life. She was an amazing Mimi and very rarely missed any activity they were participating in. She was “Mimi” to many neighborhood and ballpark kids. Everyone she met instantly adored her.
The family will have a private gathering to celebrate Carole’s life. Because Carole was a huge supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to them in honor of Carole.
