Catherine Nadyne Toles

Catherine was born in Saybrook, Illinois, on January 28, 1935. She graduated from Saybrook High School, where she received her diploma.

On May 8, 2018, Catherine married James Allen Toles. She was a talented and creative woman who opened and successfully operated her own florist business, Catherine’s Floral Creations, for nine years. She also had a passion for painting in her spare time. Catherine was a self-taught artist and created beautiful paintings that she lovingly gave to members of her family which they will treasure forever.

Catherine was a charter member of Westwood Baptist Church and cherished the fellowship she found there. She especially enjoyed the church socials, where she was known for bringing her famous homemade ice cream.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Carl Lee Carter; son, Eddie Lee Carter; parents, Edgar and Ethel Hale; Levi Carter Cohen, son of Kyle and Heather Cohen; and siblings, Edgar Wayne Hale, Richard Eugene Hale, Robert Glen Hale, Verna Elaine Hale Johnson, and Carolyn Marie Hale Copher.

Catherine is survived by her husband, James Allen Toles; her sons, Michael Ray Carter (Ariya), Steven Randall Carter (Carol), and James Russell Carter (Ana); her daughter, Rebecca Ruth Bolton (David); her grandchildren, Jeremy Carter (Danielle), Donya Lee Carter, Greg Carter, Aaron Wayne Moore, Tim Cosby (Valerie), Misty Carter, Mollie Lynn Carter, Susan Isbell, Amanda Lynn Bolton, and Heather Renae Cohen (Kyle); her great-grandchildren, Lincoln Carter, Noah David Cohen, Clay Alan Cohen, Seth Isaac Cohen, Kaci Price Carter, Collier Ryan Moore, Ryne Cosby, Ty Cosby, Haylee Isbell, and Chloe Rose Moore; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Catherine never met a stranger and was deeply loved by her many friends. She also shared a special bond with her adopted granddaughter, Lizzy Druit (parents, Cliff and Autumn Druit), whom she adored. Catherine was greatly loved and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
