Although I had not seen Rick in years, I remember him as a kind, intelligent man full of humor.  May he rest in peace.

So very sorry to hear about Rick's passing.  We were friends in the SCA.  He was a wonderful person and a delight to be around.

My Friend Katie, I was so sorry to hear you loss the love of your life, and so soon after you found him.  My heart and prayers are with you and his girls, such heart break . Stay Strong you are loved my many.

Katie,  I was in complete shock when you told me about Rick.  I'm still shell-shocked.  I probably always will be.  He was so alive and so incredibly happy, especially with you.    Rick was one unique and special man that I loved so much.  Please know that we are and always will be here for you.  Our door is open to you. Just let us know how we can help.  To Lauren and Richelle, I can identify with your pain since I lost my Dad recently as well.  You girls stay strong and continue to make your Daddy proud.  He loved you both so much.  Rick was an unselfish, caring and special man whose presence in my life will not ever be forgotten.  Love you all.

For our friend, Rick Byrd - we'll keep your legacy and spirit burning bright.  And we'll be here for Katie and watch out for her until we all reunite again.  We love and will miss you always!

Katie, I am at a loss of words. Rick was your soul mate. Keep strong my friend, my thoughts are with you in this difficult time!

I am so sorry to hear about Rick.  I met him scuba diving in Puerto Rico during a Liebert meeting.  I always enjoyed socializing with him and trading stories.  He left a great impression on me and I'll always remember him.  I pray for his family and friends to be strong, just like Rick.
