Charles McLaurin

Steve received his formal education at Erwin High School in Center Point, Alabama. He furthered his education at Jacksonville State University and earned his law degree from Cumberland School of Law in Homewood, Alabama.

Steve was a member of Metropolitan Church of God.

Steve McLaurin was united in holy matrimony to Donna Austin on November 22, 1980, in Birmingham, Alabama. Their union was blessed with two children.

He was employed by the United States Bankruptcy Court as a law clerk for thirty years.

In his leisure time, Steve enjoyed playing golf, going to Panama City Beach, queso, and live music. He also enjoyed being a husband and spending quality time with his grandkids.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” McLaurin, and his mother, Betty Cason Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved spouse, Donna McLaurin; his children, Adam McLaurin (Kathy), Stevie McLaurin Shelton (Josh), and Neala McLaurin; and his grandchildren, Austin, Elsie, and Sophie (Adam), and Harlan and Samuel (Stevie). He is also survived by his brothers, Michael McLaurin (Renee) and David McLaurin.

Visitation will be held at Bryan Memorial Presbyterian Church on Monday, April 6th at 12:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM the same day. Burial will follow at Bryan Memorial Cemetery.
