

Christine Mary Nielsen Strange, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away Wednesday morning, September 2, 2015. The Niagara Falls, NY native was a resident of Pelham, AL since November 1978.
Christine was employed several years as cafeteria manager at Riverchase Middle School. She was a member of Pelham First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and in the Dillahunty Sunday School Class. She loved caring for animals and cheering for the Auburn Tigers football team.
Christine was predeceased by her parents, John and Elsie Nielsen. Survivors include her husband, James Strange of Pelham; daughter, Jenifer Stillwell (Joseph) of Clearwater, FL; son, Donald Cook (Whitney) of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Noah Cook, Maya Cook, Evan Cook, Braeden Cook, Jonah Stillwell, and Grace Coffman; sister, Rachael Nielsen Swink; and brothers, John Nielsen (Mary) and Donald Nielsen.
Christine is also survived by nieces and nephews, Lance Hutchinson, Daniel Hutchinson, Lisa Hutchinson, Robin Houton, Scott Cooper, Mark Cooper, Kristie Cooper, Johnny Letcher, Tammy Letcher, April Elliott, Joseph Strange, Tina Letcher, John Nielsen III, Samuel Nielsen, Dina Nielsen Priester, Lauretta Nielsen, Nick Nielsen, Tracy Caya, and Mark Caya; and brothers- and sisters-in-law living in Niagara Falls, Donald and Kathy Cooper, John and Robin Strange, Gary Strange, and Tom Burrell.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by the 7 p.m. Celebration of Christine M. Strange's Life in the funeral home's chapel.
