Affectionately known as Chris, he was a friend to all and loved by many people in different walks of life. Chris graduated from Homewood High School in 2011 where he participated in Varsity Football and Basketball. Following graduation, he attended the University of Alabama and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Chris graduated from college at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He was employed by Barber Company as a property manager and was close to receiving CPM designation.
Chris was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was passionate about all things outdoors. Chris had a selfless nature and would do anything for his family, friends and neighbors. He was larger than life and beyond loved by everyone. He brought fun to every occasion. He was kind, had a gentle way about him and had beautiful blue eyes and big smile which will be so missed.
Chris is survived by his parents, Caroline and David O’Neal; brother, Alexander F. O’Neal (Emma); nephew, Alexander “Fox” O’Neal, Jr.; grandmother, Adele F. Colby; uncle, Stephen F. McGhee, aunt, Sharon O’Neal Tucker (Allan); cousins, Emily McGhee, Jill Tucker and Tim Tucker; love of his life, Catherine Carter McEnerney, and his precious friends.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Wednesday February 8, 2023, at Canterbury United Methodist Church, 350 Overbrook Road, Mountain Brook, AL 35213. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 p.m. in the church parlor followed by a worship service at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.
