Craig Kenneth Sparks, born May 28, 1968 in Birmingham, AL, passed away leaving behind a legacy of hard work, adventure, and love for his family. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1987 and was a member of Church of the Highlands. Craig owned and operated Craig’s Quality Tree Service since 1987, dedicating 38 years to his craft. He loved the freedom of the open road on his Harley, playing pool, spending time with his daughter Amber, and making memories with his granddaughter Belle. A true gearhead, he enjoyed building cars and lived for the thrill of racing—always believing the faster, the better.
Craig is survived by his daughter Amber Sparks Upton, Grant Upton, granddaughter Belle Lou Upton, brother Johnny Sparks, and his nephews John Herman Sparks (nickname pnut) and John Verbon Sparks. Preceded in death by parents Verbon and Inez Sparks. Also, he had a multitude of close friends that are his family.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 26, 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:30 pm. A graveside will be held at Holly Pond Cemetery in Holly Pond, Alabama at 3:30 pm.
During this difficult time, we kindly ask all who attend to be mindful and respectful of the family as we honor his memory.
We also welcome all hot rodz and motorcycle bikers to participate in a tribute ride in his honor. A gesture we know Craig would have loved and appreciated. "WHOOP! WHOOP!"
