Cynthia Elaine Hatfield

Cynthia and Forrest shared 59 wonderful years of marriage, and their love was a shining example to all who knew them. Together, they built a life where love, happiness, faith and kindness were always in abundance.

A beloved mother to Kristian Hatfield Kirchner and a proud “Mamaw” to her granddaughter, Savanah, Cynthia found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She was a nurturing soul who always put the needs of others above her own, and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Cynthia had a gift for making those around her feel special, always knowing just the right words to say to bring comfort or encouragement.

Whether tending to her beautiful flowers, watching a movie with her husband, or enjoying the company of those she loved, Cynthia’s life was a testament to her faith and love for those around her. Her presence was a blessing, and her warm smile had a way of turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

Cynthia was a member of First Baptist Church Pelham, after serving more than 50 years at Elkdale Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama. Her Christian values were evident in every aspect of her life, shaping every decision she made and every word she spoke. She found comfort in her faith and peace knowing that the Lord was always watching over her and her family.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Wilson Sr. and Elizabeth Wilson, and her brother, Clyde Wilson Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Forrest; her daughter, Kristian; her son-in-law, Tim Kirchner; and her granddaughter, Savanah.

Cynthia is now rejoicing in the arms of her Lord, free from all earthly pain and suffering. Her family will forever treasure the love and wisdom she shared with them. Cynthia’s legacy of kindness, grace, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A reception to celebrate Cynthia’s life will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Elkdale Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Selma, Alabama, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
