Dale Brock Beck

Dale Brock Beck 76 of Maylene passed away on July 14, 2016. Dale was born in Marshall County and lived his life in Etowah and Shelby counties. He graduated from Etowah High School and the Alabama Technical College. He was a retired auto body technician. Dale proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong Baptist and served as a faithful member and deacon at several churches in Etowah and Shelby counties. He was preceded by his parents, W.L. Beck Sr. and Glennie Greene Beck. Dale is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia D. Beck; his brothers, Walter L. (Martha) Beck of Waxhaw, NC and Gary H (Paula) Beck of Attalla, AL; sister, Carol Jane (John) Oswalt of Northport, AL; daughter, Anita (Shawn) Johnston of Jemison, AL; son, Alan (Amanda Coker) Beck of Helena, AL; grandsons, Chase and Brennen Johnston of Jemison, AL; granddaughters, Caroline and Katherine (Katie) Beck of Helena, AL; brother in law, Joe (Debbie) Duke of Glencoe, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews; special thanks is given to David Wilson M.D and the staff and physicians of Shelby Cancer Care Center, Amedisys Home Health, and Comfort Care Hospice. A celebration of life service that will be conducted by Rev. Harvey Beck, Rev. Leon White, and Mike Byars will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Monday the 18th at 11am with a visitation starting one hour prior with burial at the Alabama National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Alabaster or Samaritans Purse Ministries.
