

Daniel Nathan Jolly, born on November 15, 1934, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Nathan B. Jolly and Mable Claire Dodgen, passed away in January 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Daniel graduated from Shades Valley High School in Birmingham and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marines. On May 29, 1961, he married Patricia Ann Lewis in Birmingham, Alabama, and together they had one daughter, Dana Jolly. Daniel spent over 30 years working as a terminal operator for Chevron, where his dedication and hard work earned him the respect of his colleagues.
A man who loved the outdoors, Daniel enjoyed spending time in his yard, riding his bike, fishing, and visiting the beach in Florida with his family and friends. His generosity and willingness to lend a hand to others were hallmarks of his character. He attended Church of the Highlands and cherished the community there.
Daniel was born into a large family, with Daniel and his twin brother being the 6th and 7th of 9 children. He leaves behind his wife, Pat Jolly; his daughter, Dana Jolly; his sister, Judy Jolly; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will hold his memory dear.
Daniel’s life was defined by love, service, and a deep commitment to his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, his joy in the simple things, and his unwavering support for those he loved.
A graveside service will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
