"Big D," as he was known by family and friends, was owner-operator of Paintless Dent Repair in Birmingham, Alabama. In his leisure, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, making fishing lures, restoring and repairing his Corvette, vegetable gardening, and supporting Alabama Crimson Tide sports.
Darron's surviving family members include his wife, the former Eleanor Elizabeth Smith; one daughter, Claire Pickett Saltsman (Taylor Saltsman); one son, Ben Pickett; and one granddaughter, Emma Saltsman.
Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 2-3 p.m., followed by A Celebration of Darron's Life at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage.
