Darron Wayne Pickett

Darron's family will greet friends at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 2-3 p.m. The visitation will be followed by A Celebration of Darron's Life at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage.

Darron leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and craftsmanship that will be remembered for generations. He was someone you could count on. He took pride in always showing up for others, no matter the situation. His presence was steady and dependable.

Darron was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Sue Pickett. He was the devoted husband of Eleanor Smith Pickett, with whom he built a life centered on family, faithfulness, and unwavering love. Together they raised two children, Benjamin Pickett and Claire Pickett Saltsman (Taylor), and he was the proud grandfather of Emma Claire Saltsman, who brought him immeasurable joy. He is also survived by his father, Larry Wayne Pickett; his sister, Dana Pickett Reynolds (Forest); and his beloved "granddog," Maze.

For more than 35 years, Darron dedicated his career to the paintless dent repair industry, owning and operating his own Birmingham business. He earned a reputation as someone who could solve just about any problem. His ingenuity, patience, and remarkable ability to fix things made him the person everyone depended on.

Outside work, Darron found happiness in fishing, hunting, gardening, creating, and a genuine love of being outdoors in nature. Through his passionate spirit, he found a way to combine his love for these hobbies by hand-painting custom fishing lures, crafting with incredible attention to detail and creativity. He was also an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football.

Darron's workshop was a place where his imagination thrived. Entirely with his own hands, he restored his '95 Corvette, among other projects, pouring his heart into everything he touched. A man with many talents and always an artist at work.

Whether teaching someone a new skill, lending a helping hand, or simply spending time alongside the people he loved, Darron left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
